On July 19th, I began preaching a new series on being transformed by the power of Christ. This will be a long series over the next 3 months and is based upon Romans 12:1-2:
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to [...]

Gospel Counseling:
I heard author Elyse Fitzpatrick say that she believes in biblical counseling and GOSPEL counseling. I like that term, “gospel counseling” because that’s really what we do.
We share the gospel with believers and unbelievers alike. Believers need the gospel reminder for sanctification and unbelievers need the gospel for salvation. Both need the gospel. In [...]

We talk a lot about the grace of God and His great love for us. So why do we need His grace?
The answer is: because we miss the mark – also called sin. Grace greater than all our sins!
A Holy God Who is pure and without any sin Himself holds us all accountable for just [...]

We came home from an 8 day trip to a terrible surprise. My wife noticed some weird bird droppings on the hood of our car. They were not normal ones but were covering a square foot portion of the hood. They looked more like rat droppings than bird droppings but she thought they had to [...]

The C&MA denomination promotes the Fourfold Gospel (an idea coined by A.B. Simpson): Jesus is our Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King. It’s a simple way to remember four key elements of Who Christ is and What He does in us and for us. I like it. (Note: these four are NOT all that Christ is!)
Here’s [...]

As promised, here’s the rest of the list:
#5 – Fear/Worry/Anxiety – This is a major issue that many are afraid to admit though everyone experiences fear. There is righteous fear that God uses to protect us and then there is sinful fear that inhibits our ability to serve Him.
#4 – Lack of Forgiveness - Many people [...]

The Bible best describes fools in the book of Proverbs and Psalms.
“Fools” which could be translated as “rebels” just as easily. A biblical “fool” is NOT stupid but may be very bright – except that the “fool” is not teachable and unwilling to accept instruction. That’s what makes him/her a fool – they are experts in [...]

When our church began in 1953, a female planted the church. While a devoted woman of God, our church fully understands that a female pastor is UNbiblical and we repent!
We are an elder-ruled church and females are NOT to be elders or pastors in our church. The men lead our church as the Scriptures teach [...]

From the ESV, Ephesians 4:15-16 reads: “Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow [...]
