It is a sad announcement but I have decided to step down from the Senior Pastorate at Clay Christian Fellowship. My last Sunday to preach is March 7th.
I know the Lord is calling me to focus upon the biblical counseling ministry He has begun called Truth in Love Ministries (www.histruthinlove.org). This ministry was launched out of this [...]

You hear a lot about hypocrisy. People act like Jesus talked about hypocrisy all of the time, but He didn’t except when He dealt with religious Pharisees. Today, Christians are afraid to be bold and to biblically counsel or tell others about Jesus because of the “hypocrisy” or “sin” in their own lives, but we don’t [...]

We just returned from a good time of teaching, fellowship, and serving Christ in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Several of us attended from TIL and I hope more will attend with us next year.
For me, this conference was full of new experiences. First, this was my first time to teach a workshop at NANC’s annual, national conference. I [...]

Now that you are dead to yourself, you are to be alive to Christ. You are to live for Him!
What a difficult life Jesus lived! It was not a life of ease.
Jesus was challenged by religious leaders. Jesus said things that people became so angry about that they tried to kill Him several times. They [...]

On July 19th, I began preaching a new series on being transformed by the power of Christ. This will be a long series over the next 3 months and is based upon Romans 12:1-2:
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to [...]

Romans 15:14
“I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another.”
In his new book, Strength in Numbers, Dr. Mark Shaw has presented the church in America [and abroad] with a replication model of ministry that can impact the Kingdom of [...]

I hear people and even counselors say, “Her perception is her reality.” While that is a half-true statement, it is not wholly truthful.
People believe lies. People deceive themselves. I do it, too, sometimes! None of us are immune to falling prey to self-deception and the lies of Satan. We “think” these lies are reality though [...]

Gospel Counseling:
I heard author Elyse Fitzpatrick say that she believes in biblical counseling and GOSPEL counseling. I like that term, “gospel counseling” because that’s really what we do.
We share the gospel with believers and unbelievers alike. Believers need the gospel reminder for sanctification and unbelievers need the gospel for salvation. Both need the gospel. In [...]

Dr. Record at Christ Health Center shared a devotion with us a week ago about Romans 5:1 reminding us that we are at peace with God.
God never was at war with us. We were warring against Him but now, as Christians, are at peace. We do NOT see Him as the enemy. We can lay [...]
