We just returned from a good time of teaching, fellowship, and serving Christ in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Several of us attended from TIL and I hope more will attend with us next year.

Victory To or From?

Posted by: Pastor

I met with two of our biblical counselors recently and they were discussing an interesting topic. Here was the question they were asking each other (and me!):
Are you operating TO victory
OR
are you operating FROM victory?
One little preposition makes a BIG difference. Think about the two of these for a moment. TO victory or FROM victory?
As [...]

Speaking God’s Word of truth in the Love of the Holy Spirit!

Ephesians 4:15 tells us that the body of Christ spiritually grows and becomes more Christ-like when we “speak the truth in love” to each other.
Our church at Clay Christian Fellowship endeavors to speak God’s Word of truth in the love of the Holy Spirit for the purpose of growing the children of God to fulfill His [...]

3 Critical Components of Spiritual Maturity

Posted by: Pastor

Spiritually mature Christians demonstrate 3 qualities:
1) Obedience to God’s Word
2) Gratitude
3) Submission to Authorities
I look for these qualities in believers. When I see them, I know I am talking to a maturing Christian.
Rate yourself now – on a scale from 1 to 10, how obedient, grateful, and submissive are you?

Did you realize that “self-pity” is prideful?
When one is mired in self-pity, they are being prideful. Why? Because they are focused upon themselves and not focused upon Christ.
“Woe is me” is the attitude.
“I deserve better” is the attitude.
In reality, Christians do not have “rights” to certain blessings in this life. In fact, we are to [...]

Homeschool Outing at CCF – Oceanic Vessels

Posted by: Pastor

We had a great presentation today on oceanic vessels by Elder Mark Tidwell. About 15 participants listened to his very informative lesson and then built their own “vessels” that were tested in “ocean-like” waters!
Overall, it was a great time today and not only the children learned, but I learned a whole lot myself. Just in time [...]

You’ve got to read this – a FIRST for TIL and a RARE occurrence!

You are NOT going to believe this!
One of our counselees led a young person to the Lord in our waiting room!
NOT a counselor but a counselee with whom we’ve been working for many months led a young person to the LORD.
How about that for God showing that He is working through this ministry for His [...]
